Frequently Asked Questions
Does MFS include Sunroofs on our vehicles?
No, we do not. It’s a $3,000 expense that we cannot make up for in the sale of the vehicle. We have spent years fine tuning the models that provide the best value for you. If there are certain options you need/want we are happy to quote you an adjusted annual premium to include those options.
What Can Be Done To The Vehicle Regarding Upfitting?
Holes can be drilled into the vehicle. Our team will reach out to your Upfitter of choice to give them direction on where to drill the holes to attach equipment. The Client can add: • Stickers • Bumpers (We encourage Push Bumpers) • Lightbars • Partitions • Window • Barriers • Door Guards • Prisoner Transport Inserts • Radios • Laptop Mounts & Docking Stations We work with upfitters nationwide. We do allow law enforcement and utility light and equipment upfits. We can recommend an installer or work with your local or in-house technicians to meet our requirements.
What can the client not do to the vehicle?
1. Paint the vehicle. 2. The traditional A-Pillar Spotlight cannot be added because it requires drilling a hole in the A-Pillar. The reason we cannot allow it is that it invalidates the warranty on the vehicle. We do have other options available.
Who chooses the equipment on the vehicle?
The client chooses their own equipment for their own needs.
Who owns the equipment on the vehicle
The client purchases the equipment and can be put on any of our vehicles. After the lease term, the client removes the equipment and can put it on another vehicle.
What Responsibilities Do The Municipalities Have To The Vehicles?
The Municipality is responsible for the routine maintenance of the vehicle (Oil Changes and Tire Rotations)
When Does the municipality have to pay for the vehicle?
They have a Net30 on payment AFTER the delivery of the vehicle.
What Happens After The Client Agrees to Sign-up for MFS?
The first step is that we send our ‘Professional Services Agreement’. This agreement only needs to be signed once. This means that anyone (County Commissioner, Town/City Managers, Sheriffs/Chiefs) who has to vote on it, only has to do so once. The Agreement is Non expiring, does not require a long-term commitment, and does not need a downpayment to receive it.
Is This Agreement Up To Legal Standards?
Yes, a Municipal Attorney who served as a Lawyer for the Bush Administration wrote the contract. That means it was created by Municipalities for Municipalities.
What if the Client wants to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease term?
They can buy it for $500 over the asking price for the vehicle. This is after MFS has received 3 different offers for the vehicle. Client can purchase the unit at any time for the original purchase price including all rebates and concessions. We also offer programs for municipal employees and family to purchase the units after the lease expires.
How does the vehicle get delivered to the Municipality?
After the client places an order with MFS. MFS places the order direct with the Manufacturer. Then MFS will reach out to the preferred/local dealership in the area to work with them on getting the Pre-Delivery Inspection done before handing the keys over to the client.
Can the Client authorize a local vendor to manage the major maintenance and tire replacements?
Yes. MFS is about making the entire experience hassle-free for clients. That means that the client can let us know who handles their maintenance and the vendor can directly send invoices to MFS to cover the expenses of Tire replacements if needed.
What if there is an accident in the vehicle, who covers the damage costs?
Our policy states if your driver causes damage to the vehicle, your department will be liable for the repairs. MFS covers normal wear and tear of the vehicle (small scratches, chips, etc.).
